American hedge fund manager Perkins caused an almighty storm on Twitter last night when he suggested that there might have been a serious rules breach by Doug Polk during his match with Daniel Negreanu.
Polk was accused of analysing hand histories manually which Perkins thought was unfair.

Will Jaffe isn’t one of the most well-known poker pros around, but he does play high stakes and is a WSOP gold bracelet winner.
He will be a lot better known now after producing one of the funniest troll vids poker has seen in a while.
Bill Perkins is starting to build a reputation as a major gossip queen this year. Okay, rightfully so it seems until two nights ago, but he way over exaggerated the issue with Polk.
Jaffe said,
“Look Bill, I know you’ve done a lot for the poker community, like donating a lot of money to the high rollers,”
Talk about sticking the knife in.
“First you’re criticising the poker community for making a bad bet against you…laying odds on the best heads-up player of all-time versus a guy who’s gotten heads-up a few times in mixed games tournaments at a WPT in 1986,”
Bill Perkins Calls Out Doug Polk for Looking at Hand Histories!
When Bill Perkins posted the following tweet people were panicking that the match was under threat.

To start with, people thought Polk, either himself or his team, was manually entering the hands into a database for a full comprehensive analysis. Then Ryan Fee quickly clarified that Polk was only using the replayer native to the WSOP.com software client.
Polk was completely unimpressed at having his integrity questioned.
“We also have a judge to arbitrate this thing, and now Perkins is just firing off with SUPER MISLEADING accusations about what has happened in this match. Completely out of line.”
Polk highlighted that there was actually a judge for the match who would be available for matters such as this. And it was none other than Phil Galfond, which many people were unaware of.
“I cant believe I have to defend opening up the client and looking at a 400 hand session how many times my opponent folded the button. This is some of the most nit picky bitch shit I have ever been a part of.”
Negreanu chimed in with this tweet to put everyone’s mind at rest.

Bill Perkins Unimpressed
It looks obvious that Perkins realised he got a little over-excited here. For those that aren’t aware he has money riding on Negreanu and got spooked at the thought of Doug Polk using every trick he can come up with.
Jaffe continued to jibe at Perkins saying he doesn’t like people who think they are experts in everything, which is common in poker.
“You’re stepping out of your lane here papa…Just because you fly a couple of times a year to the Galapagos Islands to do acid with a bunch of sea turtles and Dan Bilzerian doesn’t make you a self-help guru,”
What a burn!
Perkins responded by tweeting,
“I appreciate your impossibly long Dickish video of you complaining there was a disagreement. You think I’m a rich asshole I think your a poor one. So eat a bag a Dicks. We clear.”
