Stoyan Madanzhiev wins 2020 WSOP Main Event for $3,904,686
Day 3 of the 2020 WSOP Main Event started with only 38 players and so it was clear that we will crown a new World Champion.
Former November Niner Bryan Piccioli started the day as chipleader, but busted surprisingly early in 28th place for $79,625.
bencb789 and €urop€an both bust just shy of the final table
After the Piccioli’s bustout the biggest names remaining were the most successful online player of the last three years Benjamin “bencb789” Rolle, Finnish online superstar Samuel “€urop€an” Vousden and German high roller regular Stefan “Shilli33” Schillhabel.
While €urop€an and bencb both busted just shy of the final table in 12th and 11th place, Schillhabel did make the final table and finished in 7th for $467,825.
Female poker pro Wenling Gao makes it into Heads-Up of the 2020 WSOP Main Event!
The probably biggest story of the 2020 WSOP Online Main Event was that female pro Wenling Gao made it all the way to heads-up play. This is the first time ever in WSOP Main Event history that a woman had the chance to become a Poker World Champion.
Wenling Gao also topped the best ever result ever of a woman in the WSOP Main Event set by Barbara Enright in 1995, when she finished 5th for $114,180.
It was anybody’s game at the start of heads-up play as both basically had even stacks:
However, Stoyan Madanzhiev dominated one on one right from the start and quickly managed to pull a 2 to 1 chiplead after making a big call in a sizeable pot.
In the final hand, he then had lady luck on his side when he called a button raise from Wenling Gao, who had Pocket Aces, in the big blind with 7♦6♥ and the flop came 3♣4♥5♠. All the money went in on the 8♥ turn, and Wenling Gao was drawing dead.
Congrats to Stoyan Madanzhiev for winning the WSOP Online Main Event and $3,904,685, the largest 1st place prize in online poker history ! @GGPokerOfficial pic.twitter.com/0vH6MpXNpo

Fedor Holz wins his second WSOP Bracelet in Event #79: $25,000 Heads Up No Limit Hold’em
GGPoker ambassador and German Wunderkind Fedor Holz shipped his second WSOP Bracelet last night in WSOP 2020 Event #79: $25,000 Heads Up No Limit Hold’em for $1,077,025!
Holz, who officially retired as poker pro, is back to crushing it online since several month. He is also the top seed in the Run It Once Legend Showdown, where he crushed Pauli Ayras in the Semi-Finals one week ago.
Fedor’s intensive heads-up play over the last weeks now paid off big time as he won his second bracelet in one of the most prestigious events in extremely dominant fashion.
Fedor Holz crushes Sergi “srxakgirona” Reixach and Bruno Botteon in lightning speed
In the Semi-Finals, Fedor Holz took the chiplead right from the start and never relinquished it. After only a few hands, Reixach was All-In with Ace-Jack after flopping an Ace, but Holz had turned the flush to advance to the final.
In the Grand Finale, it took Fedor even less time to finish off his Brazilian opponent Bruno Botteon.
Holz quickly pulled a 2 to 1 chiplead and then pushed all-in on an eight-five-four flop with middle set after getting raised by Botteon.
The Brazilian had Pocket Tens for an overpair and only two outs, which he didn’t hit on the Nine turn and Four river.
After a little bit more than 4 years, Fedor Holz confirms his biggest success of his poker career and sets a new milestone by winning his second WSOP bracelet together with a whopping $1,077,025 first place prize.
Crazy emotions right now. Shipped my second bracelet and a million bucks (also for 130 lucky staker)! 🕺🚀 pic.twitter.com/mDvnq4J7Io
