Patrick Kennedy from the UK ships the $840 Bounty No Limit Hold’em for $245,448
Kirsten Bicknell once again proved her outstanding position as best female poker player in the world by winning her third WSOP Bracelet! UK player Patrick Kennedy shipped the $840 Bounty No Limit Hold’em for $140,768, while high stakes legend Mikita Badziakouski missed his first bracelet in brutal fashion by giving away a more than 5 to 1 chiplead against Lev Gottlieb from Mexico in the $10,000 Short Deck Championship.

Patrick Kennedy from the United Kingdom is the latest bracelet winner at the WSOP 2020. He managed to knockout all of his opponents and was the last man standing in a massive 2,382 player strong field in the $840 Bounty. Kennedy defeated Joshua “kaledak” Pollock from the USA heads-up to win his first WSOP bracelet.
Notables, who made the money, included: Artur Martirosyan, Simon Higgins, Mike Leah, Simon Lofberg, Fedor Kruse, Danny Tang, Lev Gottlieb, Ana Marquez, Harry Lodge, Dario Sammartino, and FIFTY STACK No-Limit Hold’em Champion Michael Clacher.
The biggest names that made the final table were Brazilian Bernardo Dias, Jose Severino from Panama and Argentinian Franco Spitale. None of them made it to Heads-Up play though, with Dias getting the closest by finishing in 3rd place.
Patrick Kennedy entered Heads-Up play with a 3 to 1 chiplead, but Pollock managed to get back to even quickly.
The final hand was a classic cooler, where all the money went in preflop with Pocket Jacks against Pocket Tens. The Jacks from Kennedy held up and he was rewarded with his first bracelet and a whopping $245,448 for the biggest success of his poker career.

The most famous names besides Kristen Bicknell at the final table were Belarusian Ilya Anatsky and Simon Higgins from the UK.
Heads-Up Bicknell had to overcome an almost 3 to 1 deficit, but staged an impressive comeback and dominated Heads-Up right from the get-go.

The first championship event of the WSOP 2020 was played in the booming Short Deck format, also known as Six-Plus Hold’em.
130 of the best Short Deck players in the world paid the large buy-in of $10,000 to create a $1,261,000 prize pool.
17 places were paid and notables, who made the money, but busted before the start of the final table included Jason Koon (15./$23,915), Brazilian tournament crusher Yuri “TheNerdguy” Martins (14./$23,915), who will also enter tomorrow’s PLOSSUS Final Table as massive chipleader, Danny Tang (12./ $27,222) and George Wolff (11./ $27,222).
Big names, who did make the final table were Ami Barer, Dan Shak, Sergi “srxakgirona” Reixach and Mikita Badziakouski.
The latter even entered Heads-Up play with a massive, more than 5 to 1 chiplead and his first WSOP bracelet seemed to be within his grasp.

But Lev Gottlieb made a phenomenal comeback and an epic Heads-Up battle broke out, which lasted for almost four hours!
The lead traded back and forth for more than two hours, before Lev Gottlieb pulled away decisively, when he turned Trips with Jc6h on AhJd8hJcQs against AsTc from “fish2013”.
After that hand Badziakouski was very short and soon after Lev Gottlieb became the first WSOP 2020 Championship bracelet winner for $276,393, when he won a preflop All-In with AsTc vs. KdQs from Mikita Badziakouski, who missed his first bracelet in brutal fashion:
