As most poker fans know it by now, Doug Polk is prone to getting into online beefs with other famous poker players.
This time, an old-time foe of his has come forth to take another jab on Polk.
Johnnie Vibes Attacks Doug Polk on Twitter
It all started last week when Doug Polk tweeted out that some of his videos on YouTube have been taken down.
The Youtube poker video purge has finally descended upon my channel as well. Bunch of videos taken down, I assume more incoming. Not sure if I will be able to get them back or not, time will tell.

YouTube targeting poker videos is nothing new under the Sun. In fact, just a few months ago famed poker streamer Jaime Staples tried to raise awareness about this very issue on Twitter. However, then not many people paid heed. Doug Polk himself dismissed the issue, claiming that all of his videos were fine.
The Google-owned video sharing site sometimes considers poker content to be advertisement for gambling. Even Daniel Negreanu, 6-time WSOP champion and the owner of the most subscribed poker channel on YouTube, had one of his WSOP vlogs removed for this reason.
However, this Twitter thread quickly pivoted to a whole new direction when Johnnie Vibes responded.
The poker vlogger jumped in and accused Doug Polk of stealing other people’s content.

Here Vibes refers to the old video series Polk used to make on his channel called “Poker Hands”. In it, he took footage of live poker hands and provided commentary, analyzing the strategy of the players involved in the hand.
The issue of fair use is an ever topical question for YouTubers that seems to come up over and over again – outside the poker community as well. As a rule of thumb, if the video is transformative in nature then it’s usually not illegal to include copyrighted material in it.
It is quite malicious from Vibes to discredit Polk’s success and mark him as essentially a “freebooter”. However, he may have some good reasons to feel some malice towards Doug Polk.
The History Between Johnnie Vibes and Doug Polk
Johnnie “Vibes” Moreno and Doug Polk have clashed in the past as well.
Back in April 2019, Polk heavily criticized Moreno for selling action on a $40K tournament package with a 1.4 markup. He pointed out that Vibes had only had $67,000 in lifetime tournament earnings at the time he starting selling action.
Doug Polk even went as far as calling it a scam on Joe Ingram’s podcast Poker Life.
On top of that, Polk is not a fan of poker vloggers as a whole. He stated multiple times before that he finds that type of content boring.
He especially dislikes Johnnie Vibes’ videos as he feels he puts on a phony always “happy-go-lucky” persona in them. Polk also thinks that Vibes is being hypocritical when he’s preaching about the importance of positivity, then attacks him in public.
He stressed this point again in response to Vibes’ attack.
