Shaun Deeb vs Bryn Kenney
Shaun Deeb and Bryn Kenney have become embroiled in a Twitter spat that could lead to real-life fists being thrown if Deeb’s latest tweet is to be believed…

The falling out between last year’s WSOP Player of the Year Deeb, and the man who launched himself to the top of the all-time tournament money-winners list this year, Kenney, erupted this week.
It followed Kenney’s appearance on the popular Joe Ingram podcast. Kenney revealed that he had a huge chunk of his net worth riding on the Triton Million in London.
New Poker Life podcast live at 9pm EST w/ @BrynKenney to talk about the Mike Postle scandal, reaching #1 on the all-time money list, the $25k tournament madness running on GGPoker & morehttps://t.co/EiSb8L4qUL pic.twitter.com/B2Vy2F7rvN

That tournament saw Kenney come second after a heads-up deal, but taking the biggest share of the money – $20,563,324 – bringing his career earnings to $55,505,630.
Between the £1million buy-in and side bets, Kenney said he had half his net worth on the line.
Deeb, noted for his abrasive character, was quick to suggest that Kenney had dug a hole that only a huge payday could get him out of.
This clip is just sad. It’s scary he says he had half his bankroll on his piece of the tourney and then made a ton of massive side bets which I’m guessing equaled or were greater than the amount he had of himself so if he lost and got scooped on bets he couldn’t pay. #freeroll https://t.co/qbGr6ux5So

That kind of accusation by Deeb would see Kenney listed alongside the likes of Chino Rheem – a big winner, but unethical with it, and it wasn’t long before Kenney’s peers responded in defense.
I’ve know Bryn for a really long time. We have had several times where we didn’t see eye to eye and I wouldn’t suggest his bankroll management practices, that said, I’ve seen him put his neck on the line in spots where he didn’t run well and he always honored his debts.

Jungleman’s take the situation
Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates was another to leap top Kenney’s defense, revealing: ‘Regarding @BrynKenney’s honor… I heard a story about him where he hard vouched for someone up to 500k, with a 1m USD roll on a deal it seemed he would make a ton of money on. Instead, the guy welches for 3m USD, and Brynn pays the whole 3m with every cent he has and makes’.
Kenney himself launched into the fray with a fierce refutation of Deeb’s comments, explaining also that his Triton cash was far from his only one of the year…
I’ve been in the poker world all my life, had bigger swings than anyone and nobody has a bad story about me so I don’t understand why ur relating one scammer to me. I was owed by my backer more than I took in bets and action dummy

Indeed, despite starting the year $3.5million or so in make-up, Kenney took in over $9million before his London visit, successes at the Aussie Millions as well as Triton’s other 2019 stops in Jeju and Budva.
Deeb is well-known for being capable of starting an argument in an empty house. Earlier the year he became embroiled in a huge spat with Daniel Negreanu.
As the row deepened, Deeb offered KidPoker a $500k last-longer marriage bet, with the former PokerStars man just stopping short of calling Deeb a cheat in reply…
I don’t want to ever gamble with you. I don’t trust you. You are by far the biggest angle shooter on the circuit today. The Puggy Pearson of your generation.
I don’t trust you not to angle shoot. Nor do I trust that you won’t cheat.

Deeb and Negreanu are currently fighting it out in Rozvadov for the WSOP Player of the Year, but there is no more likely candidate for the overall player of the year than Kenney, despite Deeb’s digs at him.
