Spain’s SergiReixach scored the most significant victory of his career last night by winning the €1,816,210 top prize in the €100k Super High Roller at PokerStars’ EPT stop in Barcelona.
The three-day tournament saw 64 entries, some players like England’s Michael Zhang firing two bullets and boosting the total prizepool to €6,209,280.
Bryn Kenney, the man who recently deposed Justin Bonomo at the top of the tournament winnings ranking list, was among the runners, with Patrik Antonius, Ike Haxton and a score of other big names also up for the challenge.
It wasn’t only the top pros who had turned up at the Casino Barcelona for the big-money festival opener. Japanese singer and actor Gakuto Oshiro, aka ‘Gackt,’ was taking on the high rollers and posing with some other well-known faces during breaks…

…and it would be Canada’s Daniel Dvoress who would leave penniless, all eyes on his bust out, as seen below…
Nine players returned to the Casino Barcelona on day three to decide the destination of the trophy and a massive chunk of cash, Rui Ferreira the short stack and Japan’s Tsugunari Toma wielding the biggest.
Portugal’s Ferreira, known by many under his online poker nickname ‘RuiNF,’ could only manage one jump up the money ladder, 8th place and €235,950.
The two most experienced high stakes players, Steve O’Dwyer and Luc Greenwood were unable to make a significant impact on the final table.
Toma and Burns found themselves on the sidelines too, the former was unable to beat Grafton’s pocket 8’s, the latter watching as the Englishman caught a nine on the flop to knock him out.
Down to three in the #EPTBarcelona €100K Super High Roller. Tsugunari Toma (5th – €496,740) and Kahle Burns (4th – €639,560) the men to depart.

Grafton would find himself heads-up for the title when Tang in 3rdfell to Reixach, and he had quite some lead as the pair fought for 7-figure payouts.
The Spaniard found himself in deep trouble, down to fold-shove mode quite early on, but when he did manage to double up once it turned the match on its head.
After 3 hours of heads-up play, Reixach managed to pick off a huge bluff, and it was all over – a victory on home soil and €1,816,210 to go with the beautiful EPT trophy.
