In a tale that feels like a modern-day treasure hunt, GGPoker brand ambassador Kevin Martin recently uncovered a windfall of $35,000 worth of Bitcoin in his “sock drawer.”

The reality TV star turned poker player seems to be on a roll of good luck right now. Because you see, Martin was already celebrating a nice find before a sharp-eyed follower on X prompted him to rediscover the long-forgotten Bitcoin stash.
Martin had decided to log in to his idle StakeKings account for the first time in a year, discovering that Cody Daniels had won a nice chunk of change with Martin collecting a share of $2,391.76
Celebrating his find on X, Martin received a few congratulatory messages before @Erius777, posted a joking reply that maybe he has some old Bitcoin that he’d forgotten about
Must be nice lol
You might have an old wallet full of bitcoin.

The post jogged Martin’s memory, leading him to have a dig around his home until he came across an old Bitcoin wallet that hadn’t seen the light of day for quite a while.
Feeling pleased with himself, Martin was looking forward to spending the $1,000 or so that he thought was in the wallet, completely misjudging how far the leading cryptocurrency’s value has soared recently.
Upon checking what was in the wallet, he saw that he’d just found a windfall of 0.37 Bitcoin — $35,297!
Crypto Poker – A Growing Frontier
Martin’s Windfall shines a spotlight on the rising intersection of cryptocurrency and online poker, a space where platforms like those ranked here on VIP-Grinders are carving out a niche for tech savvy players.
Bitcoin poker sites have become a haven for players seeking fast, secure, and often anonymous transactions.
The likes of CoinPoker have built their business model around the innovation of blockchain technology which offers players many benefits.

While CoinPoker is exclusively crypto, other great options such as WPT Global, ACR Poker, and GGPoker all accept a variety of tokens for both deposits and withdrawals.
The appeal goes beyond the numbers, though. Bitcoin transactions slash fees and processing times compared to traditional methods, making them a perfect fit for poker’s fast-paced world.
Security is another draw, with SSL encryption and two-factor authentication keeping funds safe, while blockchain ensures transparency in a way fiat-based sites can’t always match.
