Eric Blair bagged his maiden PokerGO Cup win last night and, in doing so, denied Joey Weissman a huge double. Blair’s heads-up victory was worth $254,800.

The fourth event on the eight-tournament schedule pulled in 98 entries at $10k apiece, with the top 14 set to be paid from the $980,000 prize pool.
The Day 1 bustouts included some of the biggest names in the game, with Daniel Negreanu, David Peters, Erik Seidel, Alex Foxen, and Dan Smith all falling short of the paid spots.
Martin Zamani and Cherish Andrews were also among the “also-rans” while Neil Warren took the unfortunate bubble spot…
Neil Warren: K♦ K♣
Justin Saliba: A♠ A♦
Flop: 8♠ 9♥ 5♠
Turn: A♣
River: 6♥
The day ended with Patrick Leonard falling with AJ off against Eric Blair’s pocket 10s and that set up our final six, with $49k locked up and $¼million up top.
Justin Sternberg’s short stack was busy early on, rivering quads to double up but then busting in 6th place to Saliba’s big slick. Saliba also took out Aram Zobian…
Zobian: 5♠ 5♣
Saliba: A♠ J♠
Flop: Q♣ 10♦ 9♣
Turn: K♦
River: 7♦
Darren Elias had laddered up a spot, but he couldn’t do much more, busting in 4th for $88,200 to Blair, who was still shortest of the remaining three by far.
A period of double-ups ended when Saliba didn’t trust Weissman’s big blind shove and paid the price…

That left Weissman heads-up for the third time in four tournaments, having faced off twice with “Texas” Mike Moncek in events #1 and #2.
Weissman and Blair traded a few blows, but the former’s hopes of a second victory were all but squashed in the following flip…
Weissman: 8♦ 8♣
Blair: K♠ Q♦
Flop: Q♠ 10♠ 4♥
Turn: A♠
River: 5♦
Weissman was left with one big blind and couldn’t produce a miracle, and Blair was crowned champion, taking the $254,800 top prize.
