The culmination of the week-long $10,300 buy-in tournament played out on GGPoker, the final nine from a field of 1226 entries during GGMillion$ week chasing a chunk of the $12,260,000 prizepool.

Among the contenders at Tuesday night’s final table included Ole Schemion and Martin Finger, with Czech crusher Roman Hrabec, Brazilian star Pablo Silva and young Portuguese talent Pedro Neves in the mix.

Also battling for the massive prizemoney were three anonymous accounts, although they came in as the three shortest stacks and would bow out early.

Brave or Reckless..?

Calling the livestreamed action on GGPoker’s YouTube channel were host Jeff Gross, joined this week by highstakes beast, Seth Davies. As usual, no deal-making was permitted and the action started quickly, and somewhat recklessly…

Aubstriakk: K♥ Q♥

Hrabec: Q♠ Q♣

Aubstriakk’s UTG open was three-bet by Hrabec in seat 2, but the anonymous player then shoved for 20BBs – “I would open-fold it to the 3-bet” was Davies’ advice – getting his just rewards…

Flop: 4♦ Q♦ 9♠

Turn: A♠

River: 4♣

The “Uncapped” bustout in 8th spot was more notable for the massive sidepot that occurred when a nasty river appeared…

Silva then KO’ed the short stack, “DntStpBelieving”, with yet another diamond flush leaving only the big names to battle it out, with five big stacks and Schemion the only one in some trouble.

The Austrian-resident German doubled once but fell in 6th spot for $470,888 when he lost the following race…

Binder: J♥ J♣

Schemion: A♦ K♥

Flop: 3♥ 9♣ 4♣

Turn: 6♦

River: Q♦

Hrabec’s bustout hand is worth playing through if you have 5 minutes to spare, showing that top guys aren’t scared to make plays even when, as here, $200k min is on the line.

Down to four now, and with three players guaranteed a 7-figure payday, it was Neves (playing under the Luxembourg flag) who would miss out. Neves couldn’t get away from a river shove from Silva.

The podium spots were still to be decided and for Silva the diamond flushes of earlier would come back to haunt him…

Silva: J♦ 10♦

Finger: A♦ 6♦

Flop: 3♦ Q♥ 8♦

“Oooh, baby! Big pot brewing!” said Davies as the flop gave both men flush draws. It took until the river to get all the chips in…

Turn: K♥

River: 5♦

…by which time the biggest cooler of the tournament by far was on the table.

Heads-up saw Finger start with 88m vs 31m but those numbers were quickly reversed and the end came when Binder won an epic race to seal the deal.
