What do you do to celebrate completing a $1million bankroll challenge? Multi-table $20,000 buy-in cash games on CoinPoker of course! Well, you do if you are Dirk “VeniVidi1993” Gerrits…
Gerrits, who for many years was known only by his anonymous online crusher pseudonym “VeniVidi1993”, has spent the past year and a half proving he could turn a healthy bankroll into a life-changing one.
Not that it was an easy ride, far from it. Gerrits started losing almost immediately, had his account closed for losing too much, and had to restart it almost from scratch.
Perseverance, belief in his ability, and choosing his games and tournaments wisely across GGPoker, ACR, and latterly CoinPoker all added to the journey, his fans following firstly on Twitter/X and later on TwitchTV.
Gerrits decided on the TwitchTV element after joining CoinPoker’s VIP Cash Games promotion and brought that most necessary modern element to his challenge – streaming!
It all paid off, though, when he finally cracked the magic $million profit milestone, with a chunk going to charity…

This week it’s been Coin Poker streaming again for the Dutchman, playing as “Bitcoinboi” and taking on the likes of Tony G, Koray “Kaki Tee” Turker, and fellow CoinPoker highstakes regs BJPCoin, samjazzykins and MoniViking…
Dirk “VeniVidi1993” Gerrits sprang to wider poker consciousness when he battled PLO endboss Phil Galfond during the Galfond Challenge. As mentioned, though, he was still anonymous at the time, but his poker story was revealed later.
Gerrits started out as an underage player (don’t copy this at home kids!), gaining experience by playing freerolls and then spending his winnings at the microstakes cash games on PKR.
Eventually, though, he improved and turned his last $100 into $16,000 and that’s where his poker dream really started.
What Gerrits has planned next isn’t clear beyond grinding the highstakes PLO games, but if you want to follow in his footsteps there are plenty of opportunities out there for you.
