Samuel Vousden Bags $1,070,058 After Seizing Victory in 2024 WCOOP Main Event

Samuel “€urop€an” Vousden has taken down the $10,300 WCOOP Main Event after defeating a field of 502 entries. 

Yesterday also saw the conclusion of the $1,050 WCOOP Main Event and the $109 WCOOP Main Event.

There’s no doubt that Samuel “€urop€an” Vousden is one of the most feared MTT players in the world today. And now he can call himself a world champion as well as a five-time WCOOP winner.

The final table line-up was as tough as it gets and the Finn had plenty of work to do starting off in fourth place with only one third of the chips of leader Guillaume “Nolet20” Nolet.

Play was fast and furious but it still took half an hour before Preben “prebs” Stokkan busted in eight place for a $105,462 prize.

Vousden then picked up his first double-up of the final table. His pocket aces triumphed over the jack-ten of Darrell “FourSixFour” Goh on a ten-high flop where the chips all went in.

Only a couple of hands later, Goh paid off the Finn again when his jack-high straight came a cropper against Vousden’s nut flush.

Goh then ran head first into a trap laid by Vousden. Pascal “Pass_72” Lefrancois open raised and Vousden just flatted with pocket kings in the hope that Goh would seize an opportunity to squeeze jam which he duly did with king-jack suited. The board ran out favourably and we were down to only four challengers.

Davi “DaviMMaker” Cola ran out of chips next and missed out on a podium finish when his nice looking flush was second best to Lefrancois’ turned full house.

Guillaume “Nolet20” Nolet was out an hour later after seeing his short stack whittled down to nothing when up against the brutality of two aggressive players.

It was all over for the Canadian when his pocket jacks were outdrawn by the king-queen of Vousden.

And that left only the final two players to fight over the title of 2024 WCOOP champion.

Vousden was in prime position with a three-to-one advantage and he didn’t disappoint. Relentless aggression from the first hand of heads-up saw Pascal “Pass_72” Lefrancois blown away when he just couldn’t make a hand to stop the onslaught.

It was all over when the Canadian flopped trips and Vousden turned his flush draw with no full house arriving on the river.

“stek94” Takes Down the $1,050 Main Event

The second tier WCOOP Main Event was won by a Brazilian known as “stek94”. He scooped a cool $441,809 for his efforts, out of the massive $3,856,000 prize pool, after the top three agreed a deal.

Even in this smaller buy-in event, the top six places still paid out a six-figure sum.

“777ANTONY777” Wins $109 Main Event

We saw a pair of Ukrainian players take the top two spots in the $109 Main
Event.

“777ANTONY777” and “psyoagromor” banked $209,747 and $173,890 respectively  after making a three-way deal withy third place finisher “Muringa.SP” who collected $182,258.

Finland’s Sami “Lrslzk” Kelopuro was the man everyone had eyes on come the final table but sixth was all he could manage.
