Of the 23 tournaments, 14 boasted prize pools exceeding $1 million. These numbers make the WPT World Championship one of the most significant poker festivals globally, attracting players from every corner of the world.
One of the marquee events, the $1,100 buy-in WPT Prime Championship, set a record for the highest attendance in a live WPT event with 10,512 entries, generating a prize pool of more than $10 million.
Meanwhile, the flagship $10,400 buy-in WPT World Championship broke another record with 3,835 entrants, offering the largest guaranteed prize pool in live tournament history, at $40 million.
Last year’s World Championship winner was Dan Sepiol from the United States, who walked away with a career-best score of $5,282,954, putting his name in poker history.
