The Women in Poker Hall of Fame (WIPHoF) has officially opened nominations for its Class of 2024, inviting poker fans and industry professionals to recognise the contributions of women who have made significant impacts on the game.
The deadline for nominations expires on September 23.
This initiative not only celebrates the achievements of women in poker but also aims to inspire future generations of female players to engage with the game.
Celebrating Women in Poker
Established in 2008, the Women’s Poker Hall of Fame serves as a tribute to the most remarkable women who have shaped the poker landscape.
The Women in Poker Hall of Fame honours those who have excelled in various capacities, whether as players, industry leaders, or advocates for the game.
By acknowledging these contributions, the WIPHoF aims to elevate the visibility of women in a traditionally male-dominated environment whilst promoting poker as a gender neutral pastime.
Nomination Process
- A candidate must have been active as a player or industry leader for a minimum of 10 years prior to election and 35 yrs of age or older.
- Player/industry leader must have contributed to the world of poker in some significant way. This person can qualify by either winning major poker tournaments, or by making significant contributions to the industry of poker.
- Player/industry leader must be a proponent of women in poker. All nominees must be approved by a committee of the Board of Directors and Inductees.
- Nominees must agree to terms & conditions of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame.
Honouring Past Inductees
The Women’s Poker Hall of Fame has a rich history of inducting women who have made significant strides in the poker world.
Notable past inductees include:
- Barbara Enright: The first woman to win an open event at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and a four-time final table participant, including the Main Event.
- Linda Johnson: Known as the “First Lady of Poker,” who has been instrumental in promoting women’s involvement in the game.
- Jennifer Harman: A two-time WSOP bracelet winner and one of the most successful female poker players in history.

Voting will take place on October 14 where the current members and respected members of the poker media space will receive 10 votes each.
The Induction Ceremony will be held in December in Las Vegas.
