Timur Margolin has won his third bracelet in the $800 NLHE Deepstack after three gruelling days of play.
The Israeli banked $342,551 after topping a record-breaking field of 4,278 entries to take the winner’s share of a $3,011,712 prize pool.
This victory is Margolin’s first in a live tournament for five years and it’s three out of three bracelets in a NL hold’em event.
Final Action
With already having two bracelets in his collection, Margolin probably wasn’t suffering from any stagefright as the action approached the sharp end of the event.
Taiwanese player Jeremy Chen headed to the rail before the final table had bare sat down to play.
And then it was the turn of Vaughan Machado to have his dreams broken. The American was shown the door by Timur Margolin who now held a stack of around double that of second place.
This elimination set a burst of bust outs going that would see the final table reduced to only four players in quick time.
Margolin still held a considerable advantage but nothing was set in stone with plenty of play still possible.
Adam Hendrix was the next to go. Azeri Agharazi Babayev dealt with him while having one eye on Brit Michael Allen in the battle to secure at least second place.
Babayev managed to win that battle but came up short in the war for the title as Margolin’s lead was enough for him to secure victory in simple fashion.
Margolin was beaming from ear to ear after knocking out his final opponent. He told the awaiting media:
“I wanna thank my wife and kids for being so supportive of my decision to travel and play poker. To live a family life and grind tournaments is not an easy lifestyle to manage.
“If it wasn’t for my wife’s support, I would be playing the series in the first place.”
