Nick Petrangelo has finally won his first Triton Super High Roller title after taking down Event # 10 $50K NLHE Turbo for $775,000.
The American is one of the greatest live tournament players in the modern day but somehow he has always failed to get over the line when close in the past.
Now, that monkey is finally off his back and it would be to nobody’s surprise to see him suddenly clean up a few more in quick succession.

Petrangelo’s reaction after sewing up the victory shows just how much he wanted to win.
A player of his calibre is always one of the starting favourites in any NL hold’em tournament, but after 14 cashes and 7 final tables that maiden win still eluded him.
Nick Petreangelo Seals Maiden Win at Triton Montenegro
The turbo format is never one of the most popular at a Triton stop, but we still saw 53 entries (including 15 re-entries) build a prize pool of $2,650,000 to fight over.
It’s also true that there is no such thing as a weak field in the Triton Super High Roller Series. Every win is hard fought.
Nick Petrangelo led the way with 54bb when the final table was set but, as always, there were some big names determined to get in his way.
Ike Haxton was close behind with 43bb. Steve O’Dwyer had only 18bb but that’s still enough to make magic happen. Dylan Linde had 10bb and Dan Dvoress 8bb; almost done but anything can happen with players of that quality.
While we say turbo events are not as popular, they certainly provide us with plenty of entertaining action. Right from the off we saw all-in confrontations coming left and right.
Dvoress didn’t get going with his 8bb stack and he was soon heading to the rail, closely followed by Steve O’Dwyer.
The Irishman thought his luck was in with pocket queens until Lewis Spencer found an ace on the river to give him the double-up.
Germany’s Leon Sturm was also the recipient of some terrible luck. Getting pocket jacks in against the sixes of Maher Nouira is a dream situation, but a rivered six was enough to send Sturm home.
Haxton and Nouira were soon to find themselves short with no help forthcoming and they too headed to the rail.
Lewis Spencer, from the UK, was now the man in danger. But after he picked up pocket kings at the right time against an aggressive David Yan he was back in a good situation with all players within 6bb.
Spencer soon found himself with half of the chips in play, although 25bb never feels like much, and then Petrangelo found an opportune double-up at the right time to pull Spencer back.
Petrangelo was on a tear now, quickly sending Yan and Dylan Linde to the exit.
The heads-up battle was another that promised a lot but it was all over in a single hand.
Spencer limped with 8c5h and Petrangelo called with Qc3c. The flop came down Jh 5c 7c and Petrangelo check-called.
But when Spencer jammed the Kc turn it was all over and his American rival was the champion.
To be so successful in poker to say that winning a Triton title and a solid $775,000 doesn’t count 🥹 Jokes aside, we’re looking forward to seeing you win more and more Triton titles, Nick Petrangelo! And we ship the post-winning synergy with @llewisspencer too 🫶🏻 pic.twitter.com/EA0zoE0YNW
