Daniel Negreanu has refused to take the bait for a high-stakes PLO challenge against Sam Greenwood.
The GGPoker ambassador recently upset his fellow Canadian with some harsh criticism over his PLO skills.
Greenwood didn’t see the offending tweet until three weeks later but he was quite clearly annoyed that a fellow high-stakes pro would come out with such comments.
I've played ~5000 hands of PLO since they cancelled Supernova Elite. I'm not a great player and am mostly playing tournaments because they're fun and play to my strengths, but for you I'll make an exception and play HU. https://t.co/mqHwm73lbH pic.twitter.com/cXsgI5S71K

It turns out that Sam Greenwood has only played approximately 5,000 hands of PLO in his life and it is far from his strongest skill set.
But that said, he was more than happy to put up and face off against Negreanu in another high-stakes grudge match.
Daniel Negreanu Not Interested in PLO Grudge Match
Sadly, Daniel Negreanu doesn’t seem interested in getting a match on. More than likely because Greenwood doesn’t have a long history of fighting with him online like Doug Polk did.
When Polk challenged Negreanu to a match in his favoured heads-up NL cash format, nobody, even Polk himself, thought the Canadian would accept — but he did!
This is how much Polk had riled him over the years. Even the merest chance of a victory in the limited number of hands was enough for him to risk a big chunk of change.
As it was, Polk walked away with a $1.2 million profit over 25,000 hands but Negreanu performed much better than expected.
Hello Sam, would you be so kind as to help me understand the upside for me to spend my afternoons in Vegas with you?
Mind you, I already have money and if I wanted more it wouldn’t be difficult for me to get action

Daniel Negreanu made it clear that he sees no upside to Greenwood’s proposed match as he already has enough money and can always get action whenever he wants it.
He even cheekily wrote that he normally charges “a charity donation appearance fee for my time”.
Sam Greenwood has a reputation as one of the nice guys in the community, so it’s unlikely he will ever get Daniel Negreanu worked up enough to get him to change his mind on this.
You played one hand poorly and it shocked me
Similar to how you have on several occasions tweeted about perceived mistakes I have made in SHRB etc
You throw stones but don’t like when they hit back?
Asking again, what is my upside in spending my afternoons with you in Vegas?

We did at least get to hear why Negreanu was happy to fire shots over that PLO hand at Triton.
Apparently Greenwood has criticised Negreanu’s play in the Super High Roller Bowl in the past, an accusation Greenwood denies.
