Canadian poker star Parker Talbot has finally won his first live poker tournament. The Upswing Poker coach took down the Luxon Pay €5,000 High Roller 8-Max for €134,279 at the Irish Open.
Talbot — AKA “tonkaaaap” —is one of the most well-known high-stakes online players around today with millions of dollars in winnings.
But he would have given up a massive chunk of that prize money just to win a single live event. Now, he’s finally gone and done it.
It has been 4,360 days since Tonka cashed his 1st live poker tournament.
He is yet to register a live tournament win.
It is the eve of Irish Poker Open. He is busy prepping for tomorrow's €350 6max.

Parker “tonkaaaap” Talbot Wins €5,000 High Roller at Irish Open
Parker Talbot is one of the most prolific online poker players currently. He plays a wide range of stakes all the way up to the biggest tournaments, steaming many of them on Twitch.
He doesn’t play anywhere near as much live volume, but a player of his calibre should have won at least some in the 4,360 days since he first registered a cash in 2012.
The Luxon Pay €5,000 High Roller 8-Max was a two-day event that saw 111 entries battling for the title.

The final table included Belgium superstar Bert Stevens and last year’s Main Event winner Padraig O’Neill, but none could deny the Canadian the victory.
Homeboy Fergal O’Cathain was the last man in Talbot’s way, but the poker gods did not favour his charge.
The final hand saw all of the chips go in on a A 4 7 flop with Talbot holding A4 and his opponent 75. The turn ace ended the event on the spot and the popular Canadian was finally able to end the teasing from his friend Ben “Spraggy” Spragg.
