The latest high-profile poker fight has erupted on Twitter with Matt Berkey calling Daniel Negreanu “a fucking phony” and a “spineless coward” in a no-holds-barred attack on the poker superstar.

Matt Berkey fires shots at Daniel Negreanu
The latest in a long line of social media wars involving Daniel Negreanu came about after he defended poker pro, coach, and writer Jonathan Little from an attack by Matt Berkey.
Berkey, founder of the Solve for Why coaching academy, had singled out Pokercoaching.com guru, Jonathan Little.
He described his claims that “most of you can become big winners at poker” as “utter nonsense” in a Twitter/X thread that went viral.
Negreanu decided to step into the debate, claiming “Berkey has been on a mission to mock and trash Jonathan every chance he gets,” describing Berkey’s motives as “obvious jealousy”.
Stating Berkey “is in no position to be an authority on what is good or bad poker coaching, he does not have the resume”.
The war of words was far from over, with Berkey turning on DNegs and accusing him of having a go at multiple people.

“You are such a fucking phony and spineless coward”
Describing Negreanu as “such a fucking phony”, Berkey derided DNegs further, claiming:
“You don’t stand for one single thing of substance, you spineless coward. As far as I’m concerned, you’re just a more likable Polk. At least he doesn’t attempt to hide who he is.”
Both players have been in seemingly endless online beefs with multiple poker players, Berkey squaring off with Nik Airball last year and Negreanu’s infamous feud with Doug Polk leading to the Grudge Match of the Century.
David K. Lappin is another player who rarely minces his words, the Irish pro certainly not one of Negreanu’s biggest fans as evidenced by yesterday’s tweet…

…but it was Little himself who came to Negreanu’s aid with a very timely win of the PokerGO Cup, allowing KidPoker to indulge in some vicarious bragging rights…

Whether or not the Matt Berkey/Daniel Negreanu/Jonathan Little saga will lead to yet another heads-up “straightener” remains to be seen, but it is unlikely the online trash-talking will die down any time soon.
