The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online on GGPoker is experiencing a significant increase in participation and prize pools compared to last year.
The fifth edition of the series has already been running for nearly a month with 20 of the 33 bracelet events already concluded.
GGPoker has done a sterling job at marketing the event and running satellites around the clock to allow players of all levels to get involved.
Thus far, more than $42 million has been awarded in prize money in events showcasing more than 115,000 entries.
Literally every metric we can think of has been improved for the 2024 edition of the WSOP Online.
Total participation has increased by a respectable 7.5%, with 15 out of the 18 tournaments concluded at the time of writing seeing a record number of entries.
With a total guarantee for the series set at $61 million, we can expect to see that figure absolutely smashed in the coming days.
One notable success of the series was the $215 Mystery Millions. This format has taken the online poker world by storm over the last couple of years so it’s no surprise to see this event well-attended.
There were an insane 221 Day 1 starting flights, attracting a record 52,452 entries, just beating last year’s total of 51,211 to build a prize pool of $10.3 million.
This is officially the largest ever Mystery Bounty tournament held in poker history.

There have been several new events added to the schedule this year. The WSOP organisers and GGPoker are constantly listening to player demands and assessing if they can be met.
This has been backed up by the numbers of players willing to test out the new formats and structures.
As for what’s still to come, there will be the $400 buy-in COLOSSUS and PLOSSUS, offering a tidy $5 million guarantee.
And then there’s the big ones that we all love to watch from the rail: the $25,000 GGMillion$ Super High Rollers Championship and a $10,300 GGMillion$ High Rollers event with a $10 million guarantee.
Of course, all eyes are squarely on the $5,000 Main Event. The buy-in remains high for regular players, even those whose dream it is to play in one day.
But can the $25 million guarantee attract enough interest to beat the 2023 record of 6,023 entries?
That event became the largest ever in online poker history, paying out a whopping $28.6 million in prize money.
The way things are going, that record will be broken in the coming weeks, and quite possibly the overall prize money record of $97.9 million, too.
