Rameez Shahid from Canada is chip leader after Day 2ABD
The 2021 WSOP Main Event has just concluded the first of two Day 2s and it was a very successful one for Team VIP-Grinders with most of our players still in!
Chip leader after Day 2ABD is Rameez Shahid from Canada (picture below) with a whopping 731,700 chips, followed by David Mock from the USA with 679,700.
All remaining players of Day 1A, B, D returned to the RIO and after ten hours of play the field was cut down to more than half.
Strong performance by the VIP-Grinders players
We have a total of 11 VIP-Grinders player on the felt, which entered our $10,000 WSOP Last Longer Challenge.
Great news coming from the RIO, since only Gergely Kulcsar busted so far, the remaining 10 players are all still in!
Marcell Csata, Marton Czuczor and Gabor Szabo already made Day 3, while our remaining 7 players will all play Day 2CEF, which starts today at 11 am local time/8 pm CET.

The entire field will be combined for the first time on tomorrow’s Day 3 with the bubble expected to burst on Day 4.
Bustouts
With the field reduced by more than 50%, there were obviously also many big names among the bustouts.
The biggest name in the bustouts list of Day 2ABD was poker legend and former WSOP Main Event Champion Doyle Brunson. Other former World Champions that didn’t survive were Ryan Riess, Tom McEvoy and Jerry Yang.
Other notables that were sent to the rail included Mikita Badziakouski, Sam Grafton, Jeff Gross, Kevin Martin, Kenny Hallaert, Adam Friedman, Frank Kassela, Landon Tice, Melanie Weisner and Kelly Minkin.
Notable Big Stacks
The only big name, who made it to the Top Ten chip counts was rising tournament star David Coleman (8./613,000).
Other notable big stacks are Nick Petrangelo (490,200), Anton Wigg (490,000), Greg Mueller (485,000), Mustapha Kanit (473,300), Georgios Sotiropoulos (380,000), Chance Kornuth (320,000), Faraz Jaka (304,000) and Stephen Chidwick (296,200).
Phil Hellmuth makes glorious entrance
Phil Hellmuth made another one of his famous and glorious WSOP Main Event entrances.
Dressed up as Gandalf the White from the legendary Lord of the Rings, he entered the hallowed halls of the Amazon Room:

Phil Hellmuth is also among the Day 2ABD survivors, with his last reported chip count being 59,000.
