There were rumours that the WSOP will be moving to the upcoming state-of-the-art 365 million dollar convention center called Caesars Forum, which is located on the strip.

However, these rumours have been already been denied by a Caesar’s spokesman:

“We have had no discussions to move the WSOP. We consider the Rio its home for the foreseeable future.”

New Big 50 tournament guarantees $5 Million for only $500 buy-in!

To celebrate ist 50th birthday in style the World Series of Poker has added a very special event to the 2019 WSOP schedule:

The Big 50 is guaranteeing an incredible 5 Million Dollar prize pool for a buy-in as small as $500! And the best thing is it will be rake-free and has an amazing structure with 50,000 chips and 50 minute levels.

The Big 50 will be running directly at the start of the World Series from May 30 – June 2 and promises to become the absolute highlight of the 2019 WSOP together with the main event.

“One of the best value tournaments ever offered“

WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart said:

“We expect our opening weekend Big 50 event to be one of the largest in our history, and certainly one of the best value tournaments ever offered. This is part of our concerted plans to make the 2019 WSOP a better value all-around.”

Other confirmed notable events include the $1,500 Millionaire Maker, the $1,500 Monster Stack, the $888 Crazy Eights.

Save the Date: 2019 WSOP Main Event July 3 -5

Absolute hightlight of the 2019 WSOP schedule will be as every year the $10,000 WSOP Main Event, which will run from July 3rd to 5th 2019.

It will feature three starting days and rumours have it that the structure will be improved one more time.

Great changes planned for the 2019 WSOP!

But more chips in the Main Event will not be the only improvement as there are great changes planned for next years’s WSOP!

WSOP vice president Seth Palansky said:

“There are a lot of exciting changes in store. We’re still working through a lot of it actually, and plan to continually announce updates as things get solidified. But with this being our 50th WSOP, we have some fun things in store. If there is one main one, it is value. We hear the cries for more value and we are hard at work to deliver that more effectively this year. Another one is reentries/unlimited reentries. Trying to make sure more events are freezeouts and to use single reentry more often than unlimited. More chips will be a theme this year for our events.”

More value, better structures

The most notable changes include bigger starting stacks and better structures. Those are fantastic changes as they reduce variance and increase the probability that the better players will suceed.

Adding more freezeouts is great news for recreational players and amateurs as re-entries benefit professional players, who can fire several bullets, while recreational players often only have the bankroll for one buy-in.
